Dr Mario Tobias

Dr. Mario Tobias, with over 20 years of leadership experience, serves as Chairman of the Management Board/CEO at Messe Berlin since September 2023. Previously, he held the position of Chief Executive Officer at the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 2014 to 2023. As Secretary General of the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies from 2011 to 2014, he led research on environmental issues. Prior to this, he held executive roles at Bitkom, focusing on information technology and telecommunications. Dr. Tobias, born in Wolfenbüttel (Germany) in 1971, holds doctorates in natural sciences and political science. He has been an Honorary Professor at the Technical University of Braunschweig since 2015.
