Keeping pace with outbound and domestic travel – Opportunities for the growth of inbound travel to China
Travel and tourism in China is rebounding from the disruption of the pandemic. While the prominence of China as a source of outbound travel is well known, it is important to recognise the development of China as a destination for inbound tourism. In this session, we will discuss Oxford Economics’ projections for international tourism to China in coming years, including key source markets – inside and outside of Asia – major competitor destinations and risks to the outlook. We will also discuss the outlook for Chinese travellers – including domestic and outbound tourism – as well as projections for key city destinations within China.
